Alpe di Siusi Balance in Autumn

Active and healthy in autumn!

This autumn too, a series of events and workshops themed around wellness and relaxation will be taking place. Assisted by the helping hand of nature, they offer a sublime time-out for body and soul and the opportunity to amass your energy stores for the coming winter. These experiences in the breathtakingly beautiful autumn countryside are a guarantee of relaxation and culinary pleasure at its very best, and are held in sites of special energy on the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm and in the villages of Castelrotto, Siusi, Fiè allo Sciliar and Tires al Catinaccio.
The events take place every week and are suitable for adults and children aged 14 and over. To take part in these events you have to sign up.

Mental strength, from forest and roots

Tuesday, 1, 8, 22 and 29 September, 6 October 2020 and Wednesday, 16 September 2020
2 - 6 p.m.

ust as plants absorb the nutrients they need for winter through their roots, we humans stock up on our energy resources through the warming rays of the sun. At the “Karlottenkofel” hill, a power-site in Siusi allo Sciliar, Monika will show you how to get your energy for the winter by “forest bathing.” Nearby, Elias lives a self-sufficient life at his farm, the Furscherhof. He will be telling us about how nature and the seasons affect his life.
After a guided tour on the farm, you can look forward to a tasting of his own regional productos in the barn.

Experts:
Monika Malfertheiner is a professional and dedicated InnerFitness®, Five Tibetans® and health trainer who is working with aspects of Nature Response®. During her sessions, she aims to impart a conscious awareness of body and spirit in relation to nature to her participants.
Elias Profanter grew up on the Furscher farm and worked there already as a young boy. Today he runs the 300-year-ld farm, which has been passed down from generation to generation. He attaches particular importance to nature-conscious agriculture.

Buckwheat - the definitive guide to South Tyrol's native plants

Wednesday, 9 September and 7 October 2020
2 - 7.30 p.m.

On this hike through the autumnal countryside from Compatsch, past the Ritsch Schwaige restaurant and on to the Gostner Schwaige mountain hut, Martha will tell you all the tales of the autumn traditions, sagas and legends of local lore. During the hike, participants will gather autumn herbs and learn all there is to know about the Butter Witches, the wild Saligen fairies and the sorcerer Kachler Hans and his legendary love of buckwheat dumplings. We’ll be stopping off at the Gostner Schwaige hut for refreshments, prepared using the herbs we have gathered on the way. To round off, we will be helping Franz to prepare mouth-watering dishes of South Tyrol tradition: When you try these culinary specialities, you will see exactly why buckwheat is a recurring theme in so many sagas and legends in the holiday region Seiser Alm.

Experts:
Martha Silbernagl
, also known as Martha the Witch, will guide you on a hike over the Alpe di Siusi and tell you all there is to know about the mythical beings who dwelt in the holiday region Alpe di Siusi in times of yore.
Franz Mulser, award-winning chef and  hut landlord, will be serving mouth watering delicacies from his Alpine kitchen. He'll be helping you to prepare buckwheat dishes and offer you numerous helpful tips and tricks.

The magic of the morning

Thursday, 3, 10, 17 and 24 September, 1 and 8 October 2020
8.30 - 11.30 a.m.

In the morning, we take the Marinzen charlift to the Alpine pasture of the same name, towering on high above Castelrotto. The breath-taking, sweeping landscape is the perfect place to recharge your batteries, especially in the morning sun. Surrounded by larch trees - the trees of light and grounding - we charge our energy through breathing exercises. During the following phase, a retreat ritual, we store the energy of this power site within us, storing up the strength to see us through winter and enhance our stamina.
To round off, we feast on healthy alkaline-based appetizer at the picturesque lake and gather a series of tips and snack ideas to use at home.

Schüttelbrot, Vinschgerlen & Co. - the breads of South Tyrol

Thursday, 3, 10, 17 and 24 September, 1 and 8 Octorber 2020
3 - 5.30 p.m.

Learn how to bake the traditional breads of South Tyrol together with Klaus the baker at the Oberprantacher Bakery in Siusi allo Sciliar. You will learn how Schüttelbrot rye flatbread got its name, and the right way to shape the “Vinschgerlen” pair-bread. The baker will demonstrate and explain the difference betweeen the variety of grains used in bread making, and provide you with a host of useful tips on baking bread. After the course, you can go home with your own homemade Schüttelbrot and hand-shaped Vinschger Paarl.

Expert:
Klaus Oberprantacher has been baking in his own bakery for 20 years, and in 2019 he completed his master’s degree in food technology at the University of Innsbruck. In addition to traditional methods of baking South Tyrolean breads, course participants will learn a wealth of fascinating information about the procedures and processes involved in bread making.

Fit-Walking with "Bergler"-refreshment

Friday, 4, 11, 18 and 25 September, 2 and 9 October 2020
2 - 4 p.m.

Fit-Walking is stamina hiking, health training, stress-relief and healthy movement in the open air, all rolled into one. Beginning with a power-walk start from the set-off point at Bagni di Lavina Bianca in Tires, we decelerate to a slow-walk speed as we approach the Wuhnleger Lake, with the Catinaccio Mountain reflected in its waters. A small mountaineer’s refreshment awaits you there, where you can fortify yourself with the balance drink and regional products from Tires.
From there we take a loop-route back to Tires. When we move both our arms and legs while walking, numerous muscles are brought into play; breathing becomes deeper, blood circulation improves and oxygen supply increases.

Rudi Brunner is a trainer for endurance sports and performance diagnostics, orthopaedic technician and leader of running groups. Rudi will accompany and supervise runners from beginner level right through to advanced.
Egon Zuggal has set himself the goal of spreading joy and sport. As a sports group leader, Functional Fitness trainer and outdoor sportsman, giving people lasting memories through healthy exercise in the open air is particularly dear to his heart.

Strengthening workout at the Laghetto di Fiè lake

When the days get shorter, the woodland takes on a golden hue and all the countryside lies down to rest, the instinct to stock up on our energy for the coming winter gets ever stronger. Gentle running training at the natural swimming lake of Fiè with integrated Functional Fitness Training to strengthen your body – Core Training – will give you all the stability and balance you need for day-to-day life. Core training helps to enhance athletic performance, prevent injury and counter back pain and bad posture.
