A winner already in the summer months, Europe’s largest Alpine pasture becomes even more spectacular in winter. The vast, hilly landscape of the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm, with the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites on the horizon, is an out-and-out paradise for skiing fans, whatever the age. Around 60 km of sunny slopes snake their way down through the mountains and into the valley, while the snow park was created with bold tricks in mind: it is the best terrain park in Italy. This commendation extends to the local cuisine, which is well-worth a try. Whether you opt for the down-home rustic or the restaurants honoured with culinary awards, the culinary offer of the ski huts will round your winter experience off to perfection.

A series of attractive events which connect skiing with culinary highlights offers the possibility to experience  the Alpe di Siusi-Val Gardena/Gröden ski area in a very special way.

To start off the morning, a gourmet experience accompanied by breathtaking views over Europe’s highest mountain plateau awaits at 2,000 m a.s.l. The mouth-watering breakfast with numerous delicacies from the local area will be served in a cosy mountain hut. And as soon as you’ve finished your energising meal, you can weave your way down the freshly prepared slopes and enjoy the powdery morning snow.

The hut is reachable by foot in 45 minutes from Compatsch/Alpe di Siusi (winter walking trail n.1) or with the telemix Bullaccia lift from Compatsch.

Wrapped up in soft blankets our horse drawn sleigh will comfortably take you on a romantic journey from Compatsch across the snowy landscape of the Alpe di Siusi right up to Gostner Alpine hut, where you'll spend a very memorable evening.

Candles lead the way to the hut, where an open fire and a flower prosecco will welcome you, followed by an exquisite meal served to your table as you enjoy the warmth of cosy lambskin and the candlelit ambience. And then it’s off to the kitchen, where you will be preparing a dessert together with head chef Franz Mulser and the kitchen staff at the Gostner Alpine hut. And to round off the evening, the flicker of flaming torchlight will guide your way back home.

Winter Berglertafel Mountaineers’ Banquet

The day begins with a snowshoe walk through the untouched, rustic winter countryside in the Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage).

After the snowshoe hike, you stop off for the “Flying Buffet” with fabulous gastronomic specialties. The venue is the Proa, a mountain pasture with a spectacular view of the Catinaccio. You can soak up the cozy atmosphere, sitting around fireplaces on bales of straw and stumps over a mulled wine and with the sound of folk-like live music.

It’s a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach, as you will discover when the day draws to a close with a view over the famed Alpenglow of the Catinaccio at sunset.

Dolovino on Snow invites you to celebrate the theme of “Top Alto Adige wines at the foot of the Dolomites” on a wine-tour across the Alpe di Siusi. South Tyrol is not just a paradise for skiers and hikers, but also an internationally renowned wine-growing area. Connoisseurs can sample outstanding wines from the local area in numerous bars and restaurants around the area, while the Alpine huts on the Alpe di Siusi will be serving culinary delights to round off the event to mouth-watering perfection.
